Pest Management Products Division

     Mission Statement  
The Pest Management Products Division provides a forum for member companies to:
· Advocate responsible development, manufacture, supply, use and disposal of consumer, industrial and institutional pest management products.
· Communicate the benefits of the pest management products industry.
· Work with public policy leaders on legislative and regulatory initiatives affecting the pest management products industry.

     Types of Products Represented
Pest management products protect our living environment from insects and other pest that pose risks to human health and comfort. They include insecticides, rodenticides, repellants, insect bait stations and traps, and lawn and garden products. Pest management products are sold as liquids, powders, aerosol sprays and gels.
    Types of Companies Represented
Pest Management Division members formulate, manufacture and market consumer, industrial and institutional products that protect human health and comfort. The division also includes chemical producers, industrial suppliers, distributors and packaging suppliers.

    Key Initiatives:
· Educational campaign to enhance knowledge about the environment and health risks from certain pests and to promote education on the control of pests that threaten the health and well being of people.

· Active participation in the legislative and regulatory process.

· Inert Ingredients - maintain FIFRA Section 10 Confidential Business Information (CBI) protections for Inerts while permitting manufacturers to voluntarily disclose inert ingredients using generic descriptors.

· Communicate with State Regulators regarding problems with state pesticide registration procedures.

· Registration Fees-States - Ensure that funds from any increases in state registration fees are necessary to fund costs of administering state registration programs and services that equally benefit all pesticide registrants.
